Latest WaveThe Latest Wave is, first and foremost, a lab for students to practice news gathering, writing, editing, art, photography, page layout and desktop publishing. Student journalists make the decisions about content, design and typography. They are encouraged to try new things they haven’t done before. They decide how often to publish, and they take responsibility for distribution. Student editors polish their leadership skills. The students learn about freedom of the press and the need to practice the highest standards of ethics and accuracy. We meet every Monday that Magellan is in session in the upstairs multi-purpose room from 2:35 until 4:00. Students interested in joining the Chess program can visit for the first and/or second session. Students interested in enrichment and/or competition in scholastic tournament chess competitions are welcome. Students make decisions about the yearbook's design and layout. They also choose committees to serve on, including photography, sales and promotions, clubs, sports, etc. Parent volunteers serve as committee chairpersons to help guide students through their assignments. The yearbook team usually meets twice a month. Sponsor: Ms Muncie and Catherine Lull |
